THE FEAR THAT SAVES

Updated: Mar 29, 2022

"The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One [is] understanding. - Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV)

The Lord never called us to terror; however, he’s called us into reverence or piety. This reverence will always make us give the Lord his place in our lives.

He comes into our lives not to have a part of us, but to have all of us. It’s a demonstration of wisdom in allowing the Lord have all of us and not just some parts of our lives.

It’s easy to know when God has taken charge. He dictates all that we do even when we’re not conscious of it. The reason is because we have become one with him. It’s easy to let go of habits and every indulgence that we thought benefited us because he’s always there to help us.

The fear of the Lord is like the rest of God. It can make you quite smoking or getting drunk, before you could think of how to stop it. There is a huge benefit to having the fear of God. The fear of God brings wisdom and the wisdom of God will prolong your live.

Wisdom is a principal thing. (See Proverbs 4:7) To have wisdom, we must possess the fear of the Lord. Here is what wisdom has to say about himself and one of the benefits of having him:

For by me your days will be multiplied, And years of life will be added to you. Proverbs 9:11 (NKJV)

The wisdom of God is yours and it’s at work in you. God richly bless you!
